About

Mel is the founder of Messyvoices Studio. The brand Messyvoices started off as a passion project where Mel used her past time and off-office hours to hone her illustration hobby. It was a play-when-she-can activity until she started her first booth selling merchandise such as postcards and stickers. The feeling of self-achievement and satisfaction left Mel feeling a bit lost at her full-time employment as a marketing manager.

After 10 years of working as a full-time employee, Mel decided it was time to leave her job to pursue and make Messyvoices Studio a reality. She likes the flexibility of time management and being able to spend time with her family and friends.

Mel’s illustrations are best described as using bright, contrasting colours with elements of animals and fruits or vegetables. One of her goal is to illustrate for a publication, specifically for children’s story books. She designs and illustrates all her merchandise-ranging from stickers, keychains and postcards to larger items such as pouch bags and totebags. She would really love the idea of exploring textile printing and creating her own fabric designs!

Graduated in Graphic Design and Advertising from The One Academy in 2009, Mel expanded her knowledge and self-taught skills in event management, marketing, social media and more. She is a keen learner and always looking out for new experiences. She is very fortunate that her ex-employers trust in her to allow her to dabble in many areas during employment, which made her multi-skilled.

Mel is also an avid gamer who likes playing role-playing games (RPGs) and first-person-shooter (FPS) games with friends and family. Some of her recent favourite (some are old) Steam games are: Back 4 Blood, Payday 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Going Under, Strange Horticulture and more!
